Notes uses collected notes from an iPhone between 2014 and 2016 to reconcile the anxieties of forgetting and the neurosis in remembering. The piece meditates on questions such as, how do we choose what is worth keeping? And what is lost in the act of remembering? Through moments of scenic memory shaped in strains of metatext, Notes examines the fragility of a fleeting moment and the humanness of retelling. The act of recording and calcifying memory is mirrored in the artwork derived from the writer’s crystal collection.
